Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR)
University of Lille · ENGSYS Doctoral School
Specialisation: Energy and Process Engineering
What is the HDR?
The Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR) is the highest national qualification in French higher education. Awarded after a doctorate, it recognises the quality and originality of a researcher’s work, as well as their ability to define a scientific strategy and support early-career researchers.
What does it enable?
It enables researchers to supervise doctoral theses, take on responsibilities in the assessment of doctoral work and apply for university professor positions, subject to the applicable conditions. It demonstrates the ability to conduct independent research and structure the activities of a team or project.

Thermal modelling of processing methods for polymers and composites
Application to laser welding and 3D printing
My work focuses on thermal phenomena involved in the manufacturing and joining of polymers and composites. It combines modelling and experimentation to link manufacturing conditions to component quality, particularly in laser welding and 3D printing.
